Continuity connection system with Injection Sleeve for vertical column-foundation connections

The vertical column-foundation connection system is part of the B.S. Italia continuity connection system with injection Sleeve.

The solution is developed for foundation/column and column/column connections and allows the continuity connection between reinforced concrete structures to be managed.

APPLICATIONS OF THE VERTICAL COLUMN-FOUNDATION CONNECTIONS SYSTEM

Foundation/column and column/column connections
The system is intended for foundation/column and column/column connections by means of the B.S. Italia continuity connection system with INJECTION SLEEVE. The connection makes it possible to achieve the structural continuity of the reinforcements between the two reinforced concrete structures, for example in column-foundation or column-column connections.

OPERATION OF THE VERTICAL COLUMN-FOUNDATION CONNECTIONS SYSTEM

Vertical height adjustment and verticality of the structure
The continuity connection system allows adjustment of the set height and of the verticality of the structure. This characteristic makes it possible to absorb any errors in the foundation castings, in addition to specific plumb systems: brackets, threaded rods, RS25.

Coupling by means of the continuity connection sleeve
The continuity connection sleeve allows very high coupling tolerance thanks to the large diameter of the sleeve. The continuity connection sleeve can be used with rebars of different diameters, from ø 12 to ø 32.

Double adherence of the sleeve
The shape of the continuity connection sleeve is designed to ensure internal and external adherence of the system.

Very high coupling tolerance
The large diameter of the continuity connection sleeve allows very high coupling tolerance between the elements.

Anchorage in continuity
Anchorage in continuity is guaranteed by the reinforcement of the foundation itself continuing towards the column, or by the reinforcement of the column continuing towards the same. The system therefore allows perfect emulation of in-situ structures.

Universality with rebars from ø 12 to ø 32
The continuity connection sleeve can be used with rebars of different diameters, from ø 12 to ø 32.

Guarantee of ductility
High ductility steels are used.

Fire resistance of the connection
B.S. Italia anti-seismic continuity connections are adequately covered and therefore protected by the concrete of the structure.

INSTALLATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE VERTICAL COLUMN-FOUNDATION CONNECTIONS SYSTEM

Fixing and centering set for the sleeves
The continuity connection sleeves are secured by means of a special fixing and centering system that can be connected to the metal templates. The metal templates are therefore fundamental for the correct positioning of the inserts.

Consultancy for templates and technical assistance
B.S. Italia S.p.A. can offer, subject to commercial agreement, specific consultancy for the design and manufacture of the templates. Technical assistance can also be provided at the place of production of the products and/or on site.

TECHNICAL DATA AND DESIGN SUPPORT

Structural calculation of the continuity connection
The structural calculation of the continuity connection is not necessary, given the guaranteed emulation of traditional in-situ solutions as continuity connection. The system guarantees the perfect continuity connection of the reinforcements between the two reinforced concrete structures, for example column-foundation or column-column. The connection provides guaranteed structural continuity and therefore does not require any additional calculation.
