Continuity connection system for the connection between precast column segments

The vertical column-column connection with RS system is part of the B.S. Italia continuity connection systems and is designed for the connection between two or more segments of a precast column.

The solution is particularly suitable in cases where, for reasons related to weight or dimensions, it is necessary to divide the precast column into several elements.

The RS system makes it possible to restore structural continuity between the connected segments, returning a monolithic structural element with strength and ductility characteristics equivalent to those the column would have if it had been manufactured as a single element.

Connection between precast column segments
The RS system is designed to create vertical continuity connections between two or more segments of a precast column.

The solution makes it possible to manage elements divided for weight or dimensional requirements, guaranteeing the restoration of structural continuity between the connected elements.

Monolithic structural element
The system makes it possible to obtain a monolithic structural element, restoring structural continuity between the segments of the precast column.

Strength and ductility characteristics
The connection gives the column strength and ductility characteristics equivalent to those it would have if it had been manufactured as a single element.

Greater coupling tolerance
The system guarantees greater tolerance than the joint systems available on the market.

Adjustment of the column bearing level
The system foot allows adjustment of the column bearing level and verticality of the structure up to 5 cm.

Double adherence of the sleeve
The shape of the sleeve is designed to guarantee the internal and external adherence of the system.

Installation without bracing
The possibility of installing the system without bracing allows greater speed and savings during the erection phase.

Universality of use
The sleeve can be used with rebars of different diameters, from Ø 12 to Ø 32.
